Description
“An Everyday Guide to the Joys of Cooking and Eating Like an Afrikan”
Food is an essential part of life, and it also represents our culture and identity. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the connection between food and power. Why should we, as Black people, learn more of our own cultural recipes? Why should we be more intentional with our everyday food choices? Why should we Africanize our kitchen and dining tables? What are some unique herbs, recipes, and cooking and serving utensils that can help us to do so? Whether you live on the Continent or in the Diaspora, we’ll show a variety of accessible ingredients, and how to combine them to prepare delicious Maatic (balanced and harmonious) meals. Food is a part of culture, and our culture must stay alive—eating Black is the only recipe.
